The Regular Season in FIBA Europe Cup just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of league's leader Azerbaijani Gence against Turkish Erokspor 92-63 was the most important game of the last round. Erokspor had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ivorian-German power forward Kevin Yebo (207-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Errick McCollum (188-1988, college: Goshen) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American forward Latavious Mitchell (203-2002, college: FMU) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds for Gence. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gence will play next round against strong Kolossos trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Erokspor will try to continue on its current victory against Rilski in Samokov.
Latvian VEF Riga smashed Bulgarian Lokomotiv Pl. at home 106-83. American point guard Jordan Sears (180-2001, college: LSU) stepped up and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Luis Rodriguez chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Devearl Ramsey (180-1997, college: UCSB) responded with 21 points and 9 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv Pl. will play next round against strong Oradea trying to get back on the winning streak. VEF Riga will try to continue on its current victory against Neftci at Baku.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of North Macedonian MZT Skopje at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Greek Iraklis 64-59. Jalen Lecque nailed 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Iraklis' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Noah Farrakhan came up with 18 points for MZT Skopje in the defeat. Iraklis will meet at home Wuerzburg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MZT Skopje will play against Tartu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Vienna lost to Nancy on the road 65-66. Opava lost to Split on its own court 68-74. Oostende managed to outperform Levice in a road game 76-69.
